Today we honored Japan with our First Saturday, Arts & Crafts project. This was a great craft for all ages.
We dripped liquid watercolor on the paper in a small puddle then blew it with a straw to create the branches. The cherry blossoms were cut tissue paper and glued in the center. Here's the tutorial I found to make the paper cherry blossoms. http://www.marthastewart.com/good-things/paper-cherry-blossom-display
My favorite part about this project is that no matter the age or skill level these paintings always turn out with a certain elegance.
